What is Subluxation?
Subluxation is a chiropractic term that relates to joint dysfunction and can be likened to a poor radio signal where the messages travelling from the brain to vital organs and muscles are interfered with. This can be due to a segment in the spine, pelvis or extremity that is not functioning to its optimal capacity. The muscles around the segment can spasm and if there is inflammation and tenderness in the affected area resulting in a decrease in the range of motion of that joint. i.e; a decrease in neck rotation.
Post Care Advice
It is important after each treatment to help your body with your recovery. Take a gentle walk, increase your water intake and avoid any sugary drinks or high caffeine drinks. As you move out of the symptom phase, your Chiropractor or Massage Therapist will give exercises to help with spine strength and recovery.
We want to help you achieve your personal best and continue to train for your sports event. Sports massage helps to prevent injury and speed up recovery.
Phases Of Care
Chiropractic and Massage treatment involve phases of care. Most people present with symptoms that take a number of intensive visits to relieve the pain. Once the pain subsides we know that the repair stage is occurring where the muscles and spine are stabilizing and the body is healing.
